Youth Hunting Opportunity - Deer
Holmes County (Westville, FL)
Holmes County 4-H will be partnering with The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to host a mentored youth hunt for deer.
Youth and families with little to no hunting experience are encouraged to take part in this learning opportunity.
Each youth will be assigned a mentor/guide that will guide both the youth and their guardian.
This will be a weekend long hunt - only the youth will harvest deer.
(Friday @ 3:00 p.m. – Sunday @ 12:00 p.m.)
All meals provided. Legal guardians are responsible for their child/youth throughout the weekend.
All youth and guardians must camp on location with tent or RV.

Marksmanship and firearms safety
Identifying wildlife
Tracking and processing game
The relationship between hunting and conservation
It’s also a great chance to make new friends, learn from others, and spend time with family!

CRITERIA:
Youth must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire weekend.
Youth must be between 12 and 17 years old at time of hunt.
Youth has passed a hunter safety course.
Youth has never harvested a white-tailed deer.
Youth and guardian will tent camp or RV camp on location in Westville, Florida.
Guardian must complete e-mail submission for possible selection. 5 families selected for February 2024 hunt.
TIMELINES:
REGISTRATION DEADLINE - 11:59 p.m. on February 2, 2024.
2024 Outdoor Adventures - Youth Hunt will take place February 16-17-18, 2024.
This will be a weekend long hunt (Friday @ 3:00 p.m. – Sunday @ 12:00 p.m.).
Names will be drawn and youth that are selected will be contacted after registration deadline. If you are not notified within one week from the hunt date, your youth was not selected for this hunt.
If selected, you will be emailed a packet with further information including a packing list.
